Meet Our Facilitator!
Cecelia Ritchie
Mind, body, and spirit are recurring themes in my work and my life. I have been an active, sober member of AA since April 1985 and Al-Anon since 1990. I’m also a member of ACOA (Adult Children of Alcoholics) and CDA (Chemically Dependent Anonymous). I also have experience in S-Anon (for those affected by someone else’s addiction to sex), Food Addicts, and Codependents Anonymous. I am an Ordained Minister with the Universal Life Church and officiate at weddings and funerals and provide Spiritual Companionship.
In my heart, I have always been a teacher. My teaching experience ranges from corporate training and development to my faith community. As a student and a teacher, I know that learning never ends. In 1999, I completed the life-changing Program “Change Management” at the graduate level of Johns Hopkins University and learned many new concepts and life skills that I now share with others.
I’ve been a certified Yoga Teacher since 2010 with over 500 hours of training. I am also certified for Yoga for 12 Step Recovery (Y12SR), which focuses on relapse prevention and healing trauma through yoga. When possible and appropriate, I incorporate yoga’s spiritual principles and/or “body movement” into retreats My advanced yoga teacher training focused primarily on courses for healing the trauma of addiction. That, coupled with my experience, enables me to teach meditation and assist others in the study of spiritual pathways for healing and integration of mind, body and spirit.
